1、長城（Great Wall）
長城又稱萬裏長城，是中國古代的軍事防禦工程，是壹道高大、堅固而連綿不斷的長垣，用以限隔敵騎的行動。長城不是壹道單純孤立的城墻，而是以城墻為主體，同大量的城、障、亭、標相結合的防禦體系。
長城修築的歷史可上溯到西周時期，發生在首都鎬京（今陜西西安）的著名典故“烽火戲諸侯”就源於此。春秋戰國時期列國爭霸，互相防守，長城修築進入第壹個高潮，但此時修築的長度都比較短。秦滅六國統壹天下後，秦始皇連接和修繕戰國長城，始有萬裏長城之稱。明朝是最後壹個大修長城的朝代，今天人們所看到的長城多是此時修築。
2、頤和園 Summer Palace
頤和園，中國清朝時期皇家園林，前身為清漪園，坐落在北京西郊，距城區15公裏，占地約290公頃，與圓明園毗鄰。它是以昆明湖、萬壽山為基址，以杭州西湖為藍本，汲取江南園林的設計手法而建成的壹座大型山水園林，也是保存最完整的壹座皇家行宮禦苑，被譽為“皇家園林博物館”，也是國家重點旅遊景點。
清朝乾隆皇帝繼位以前，在北京西郊壹帶，建起了四座大型皇家園林。乾隆十五年（1750年），乾隆皇帝為孝敬其母崇慶皇太後動用448萬兩白銀在這裏改建為清漪園，形成了從現清華園到香山長達二十公裏的皇家園林區。鹹豐十年（1860年），清漪園被英法聯軍焚毀。
光緒十四年（1888年）重建，改稱頤和園，作消夏遊樂地。光緒二十六年（1900年），頤和園又遭“八國聯軍”的破壞，珍寶被劫掠壹空。清朝滅亡後，頤和園在軍閥混戰和國民黨統治時期，又遭破壞。
3、周口店遺址 Zhoukoudian Ancient Site
周口店遺址年代範圍從500萬年前到距今1萬多年前為止。其中發現有生活在70萬-20萬年前的直立人（北京人）、20萬-10萬年前的早期智人（新洞人）以及3萬年前左右的晚期智人（距今3.85萬至4.2萬年前的“田園洞人”、距今3萬年左右的“山頂洞人”）化石。
4、乾清宮 Palace of Heavenly Purity
乾清宮是內廷正殿，即民間所謂“後三宮（乾清宮、交泰殿、坤寧宮）中的第壹座宮殿。乾清宮面闊9間，進深5間，高20米，重檐廡殿頂。殿的正中有寶座，兩頭有暖閣。乃明清十六個皇帝的寢宮： 明朝的十四個皇帝和清代的順治、康熙兩個皇帝，都以乾清宮為寢宮（自雍正始移居養心殿）。
